Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Patient Care

  1. Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for provider visits.

  4. Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and procedures.

Clinical Operations

Documentation

Communication

Qualifications:

Education:

Position Requirements:   

  1. Proven, hands-on experience actively setting up a new, large-scale manufacturing facility from the ground up from an Industrial Engineering standpoint. Must be able to share high-level examples of successful scaling projects.
  2. Expert capability in developing Yamazumi charts, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), line balancing, and calculating takt times vs. cycle times.
  3. Direct experience using advanced discrete-event simulation software (e.g., FlexSim, Arena, Simio) to model complex factory flows, alongside proficiency in AutoCAD for massive spatial layouts.

Overview:

  1. Lead the Greater Raleigh Chamber’s public policy agenda, government relations, and strategic initiatives that advance a business-friendly environment and support long-term economic growth throughout the Greater Raleigh region.
  2. Collaborate across Chamber departments and with business, civic, and government leaders to develop policy priorities, strengthen public-private partnerships, and create programs that engage members on key regional issues.
  3. Serve as a primary ambassador of the Chamber, advocating for the business community with local, regional, state, and federal officials, with primary emphasis on local government engagement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Public Policy Leadership

  1. Lead the Chamber’s public policy and government relations efforts in partnership with the President & CEO and senior leadership.
  2. Build and maintain productive relationships with elected officials, government staff, business leaders, and community partners.
  3. Represent Chamber interests to local, regional, state, and federal governments and at public meetings.
  4. Monitor, research, and analyze legislation, ordinances, and public policy issues affecting the business community.
  5. Develop policy communications, legislative updates, member alerts, and public policy content.
  6. Evaluate member requests for Chamber policy support and provide recommendations to executive leadership.
  7. Supervise the Public Policy Coordinator and oversee departmental operations.

Policy Development

  1. Develop and implement a proactive legislative and policy agenda.
  2. Support policy priorities including education, transportation, infrastructure, economic development, housing, quality of place, business climate, and growth and development.
  3. Collaborate with regional partners to develop shared legislative priorities.
  4. Prepare the Chamber’s Voter Guide during election years.
  5. Serve as staff liaison to the Public Policy Committee by preparing agendas, research, meeting materials, and policy recommendations.

Strategic Initiatives

  1. Develop and lead initiatives that engage members around critical economic and community issues.
  2. Create forums, roundtables, leadership programs, and educational events that connect business and community leaders.
  3. Partner with public and private organizations on initiatives aligned with Chamber priorities.
  4. Plan inter-city visits and leadership exchanges, including agendas, logistics, sponsorships, and participant engagement.
  5. Develop sponsorship opportunities and secure financial support for programs.
  6. Measure and report program participation and outcomes.

Events and Programs

  1. Provide strategic leadership for Public Policy Department events by overseeing program content, speaker development, sponsorship fulfillment, and coordination with Chamber departments.
  2. Collaborate with Marketing and Communications, the Events Team, sponsors, speakers, elected officials, and volunteers to ensure successful execution.
  3. Invite and encourage participation from local government officials and community partners.

Government and Community Engagement

  1. Coordinate candidate briefings and member engagement opportunities with elected officials.
  2. Lead Chamber involvement in policy campaigns and strategic initiatives approved by Chamber leadership.
  3. Represent the Chamber on regional committees, coalitions, and working groups supporting transportation, infrastructure, and economic development priorities.

Volunteer Leadership

  1. Recruit, support, and manage volunteer committees and task forces.
  2. Provide meeting coordination, research, communications, and administrative support for committees and volunteer leaders.

Budget and Administration

  1. Develop and manage the Public Policy Department budget.
  2. Monitor departmental financial performance and prepare monthly variance reports and end-of-year projections.
  3. Prepare reports for the Vice Chair of Public Policy to report at the Executive Committee and Board of Director meetings.
  4. Ensure departmental activities comply with Chamber policies and strategic objectives.
  5. Provide administrative support of all assigned Committees, Subcommittees and task forces, including guest speakers, correspondence, record keeping, minutes, research and physical arrangements for meetings.
